Fears

I have many fears

Some dark and scary
others
childish but real

Fears that I have
conquered
Fears that linger in
the edge of my vision

I bite my lip
and turn the other way
yet the feeling of that fear, lurking
is burning a hole through me

My greatest fear?

I would think that
was obvious

It has completely
taken me
turning my world into
a breathing nightmare

Kind solace in a dying hour!
Such, father, is not (now) my theme-
I will not madly deem that power
Of Earth may shrive me of the sin
