'Couples Pick Leap Day to Take the Plunge, for Free'

Leap Day has come and gone
To some it has become memorable
On a small dot of the Michigan map
Marriage became more affordable

Brides and grooms trudged through the snow
Braving a snow storm and frigid degrees
Willingly agreeing to binding matrimony
One reason was; it was absolutely free…

Couples lined up to take the plunge
In a very small hamlet called Hell.
Vows were spoken and knots were tied
Behind the ice cream parlor…in a chapel

A generous minister opted to forego the fee
She gave her blessing after the ceremony
The thought was to make this day very special
It was a unique novelty leading to harmony…

One couple remarked, 'We’ve both been married before
And we both have said it would be a cold day
In hell before we did it again, ' …and here we are
Best wishes to the gents and ladies with bouquets
