When it's dark,
I open up my heart,
and feel so crystal clear.
But by light of day,
My heart locks shut,
From stress and strife and fear.
Because in the light
The masks are on,
An life's pantomime begins.
A twisted circus,
Draped with a tent,
To cover up our sins.
For in the dark,
Where eyes can't see,
Your heart is free to feel
No masks,
No clowns, no circus tents,
Just true emotions are revealed.
