Feelings Revealed Poem by Shiloh Thompson

Feelings Revealed

Author's Note:
Here is another from my high school days. I got two of my friends together, even though I really was smitten with the guy at the time, having liked him for almost a year. The result of this act was this poem and two of my friends that are still together even now.

I look into his beautiful blue eyes,
And I know deep inside there is something there,
Some hidden emition I felt only once before,
Yet it will remain hidden because of her.
I have no claim on him, no right to interfere,
They deserve each other, the happiness and love,
I am undeserving of these emotions from him,
Like Eponine, I will wander alone at night,
Imagining his arms around me, embracing,
And eyes filled with love for me and only me,
But, alas, it is but a dream in my heart.

That sparkle in his eyes is not for me,
But for another who waits for his advances,
Advances I fear he is waiting for from her,
Creating a stalemate I witness on the sidelines,
With my heart full to bursting, breaking even,
Silently suffering, yet floating on wings,
Wings created by euphoria and passion,
Emotions that will not be voiced, ever,
So, I stand witness to their silent cries,
Those lonely hearts reaching out,
Without allowing mine to reach as well.

So I write, my passion for him coming out,
However, never to be read by anyone but myself,
Hidden, horded, protected from prying eyes,
My own secret guarded by my jealous heart.
He shall never know my true intentions,
And this shall never reach his beautiful eyes,
I shall live alone and tortured as I watch,
Encouraging nothing but their happiness,
And sacrifice my own just for him,
For when you love someone as much as I,
All you want is their eternal happiness.
