Feline Dreams Poem by julie kops

Feline Dreams

She creeps lithely across the sand and stone
Silence the truest companion she's ever known
She becomes the creature she knew she'd be
And sets the eye of consciousness free

Oh the feel of freedom in another's skin
To feel the connection to her deeper self begin
No longer constrained by chains self bought
She becomes one with the moments thought

The sounds and sights become so intense
Feel the glory in earth's gentle presence
Feel fate's wind ruffle silken fur
A momentary dream all that's left of her

Today she lives just for the sake of being
No worries no chains, eyes that are truly seeing
She hunts when she must like a shadow
Of a lonely girl her soul used to know

There is peace to be found in simplicity
All inherent goodness with no human duplicity
The peace enfolds her and she slips into grace
Her feline side is her heart's dwelling place
