Felt Unseen - Poem by hyra hussain

As I walk toward my elimination
I see the ones I once loved,
Once trusted
With faded vision of all those days caressed within myself
Reminding me of the era
When smile was my second name

I grew close to god
Leaving behind my fake identity
Wiping it out
Still faking a broken smile
I dig my way through the depraved crowd

Then suddenly I see the face I implore to forget
The beauty I once saw had faded away
leaving behind something far diverse

but the scent of ignorance was still there
closing in all the doors for me to enter
I felt shut out again
Left behind
I felt unseen
