Fifteen Minutes Of Fame Poem by Colin Coplin

Fifteen Minutes Of Fame

Rating: 4.0

What would you give, to be in the eye of the storm
Centre of the universe, the king of it all
What would you give, to be the eye of the storm
To ride the big Nazare wave ‘til it's gone

Everybody wants a shot, at 15 minutes, of fame
Empires rose and fell, on 15 minutes of fame
People built monuments, for 15 minutes of fame
Some become immortal, with 15 minutes of fame

But you and I, we want more, we want it all
Yes, united we stand, for, once divided, we fall

What would you give, to be in the eye of the storm
Where beauty is eternal, and angels are born
What would you give, to be in the eye of the storm
Those who know, need nothing more

Everybody wants a shot, at 15 minutes, of fame
Some are changed forever, after 15 minutes of fame
While others are simply chained, looking for their 15 minutes of fame
People remember your name, with 15 minutes of fame

But you and I, we want more, we want it all
Yes, united we stand, for, once divided, we fall

Space and time are ageless, while truth goes on and on, and on, and on
Yes, united we stand, for, once divided, we fall

What would you give, to be in the eye of the storm
Centre of the universe, puppeteer of it all
What would you give, to be the eye of the storm
To ride the high tides, until all four are gone

But you and I, we want more, we want it all
Yes, united we stand, for, once divided, we fall

Everybody wants a shot, at 15 minutes, of fame
