Fig Tree Poem by Donald Seyerle

Fig Tree

Fig tree you've come alive as I walk by;
The neighborhood is watching you;
Even yonder pear tree.

A benchmark every spring;
Yet you're really not so free

Can I sample you in summer?
You're transported from Italy.
He even fought a war with Tripoli.

Don't be jealous little tree;
Down in fall, up in spring.
