Final Goodbye Poem by Stefanie Fontker

Final Goodbye

I watch you beckon me
Over to you with tears,
Leaving my eyes barren
Of any apparent happiness.
I wonder if I could ever
Truly have had more, more
Than what you have given me.
But these are just musings
My last act of freedom.
I walk to my final death,
But I hold my head high.

You simply evoke so much emotion in and from your verse. I have never seen such passion expressed in so few words. You have what every aspiring poet yearns for, and that is honesty in your craft. I am never sure if what I am reading is reality or fantasy and because of that, this is where your true strength lies. Outstanding poem.
