Final Indecency Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Final Indecency

Always blaming others for choices being made in life,
never taking responsibility for any of them.

Abusing wives, yelling, screaming, putting them down,
because of their own insecurities and doubts.

Accusing them of going out on them, yet they're the
ones doing it and not telling the truth.

Blinded by their own ineptedness, no common sense,
doing whatever it is they want.

Disrespecting, treating their wives like scum and they
are gods.

Alcoholics getting drunk for years, raping and abusing
them, taking out their anger on someone they love.

Thinking in their own minds they are showing what a
man they are.

When looking through tear-filled eyes and broken hearts,
wondering what they've done to deserve this horror-filled
hell.

Women knowing they've done nothing wrong to cause anger
towards them in this way.

Billions of brain cells killed by drinking liquor, when
older, having nothing left of their original humanity.

Being now, only demons of anger and hatred, turning it
all against the person they claimed to love.

Now knowing they could never have love from such a putrid
excuse of a man, women give up, never knowing love.

Feeling it's too late for them to be loved, this is the
final indecency perpetrated on a woman who has been abused.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Maybe the word should be ineptitude, but I prefer my own version, ineptedness.

This is a cumulative indictment of the man who is in effect a serial rapist, but not just raping the physical body of his wife but also her mind, her spirit, her soul. These are four component of the human person which you have written much about and I have added to it. For example, James Hillman taught me to see the soul as of the earth, it is the inner component rooted in the rich soil of the earth, the principle of growth, fruitfulness, harvests; the spirit in contrast is of the sly, it aspires to be above and free in open spaces, ascending to the heavens, its very ancient origin. Husbands who abuse their wives are attacking both soul and spirit, frustrating their necessary descent and ascent, imprisoning them in the body's grief which overwhelms their whole being. Such an offense against WOMAN needs your poem's passionate denunciation and the loud cry, Shame, shame on you abusers.

So unfortunate but such a common indecent fact being happened on this earth, as being conducted by the alcoholic persons indiscriminately. thanks for raising this issue.
