Fire... Poem by Majid Zubedi

Last year,
we were together;
today I sit where,
once we were here.
and sat near,
beside the fireplace;
light of flames,
reflected to your face.

though I pretended to watch the flames;
but saw you whenever gotten the chance.

the frost was outside;
it was a cold night.
we heard the sound of the rain;
and we sipped our champagne.
I was enjoying your scent;
at the time we were silent.
the fire made the living room warm;
and light of flames increased your charm.

swaying, singing, those dancing-flames;
they were also sharing with our romance.

it was the most romantic night;
when you were in front of my sight.
it all looked like a dream,
your sharing with me;
every single corner,
seemed to be happy.
then I didn't know about anxiety;
you looked like the present days Aphrodite.
I felt pride being your companion;
then I was really a luckiest person.
parting-time was coming, I never knew;
our sharing-time was, then left few.
and now the winter;
will come every year.
may be we would not gather;
today I sit here.
besides the fireplace;
and imagining your face.

crying and dying these weary flames;
in there faint cry, also call your name.

all the things are where;
as same as they were.
but you are not here;
and gone somewhere.
it's the big difference;
between the seasons.
the frost is outside;
it is also a cold night.
the time of frigid-winter has come again;
and I am hearing the sound of the rain.
outside blur with mist and fog;
here going to crackling the burning logs.
and make the night so dreary;
I still miss you, O! My Cherie!

though I'm burning just like these flames;
but on my love, I'm not ashamed.
