Firefighters Poem by David Castaneto

Firefighters

In a colossal stage, the beaming spotlight's glarin' and the teeming crowds are shriekin',

You're cool and collected but inside your blood's boiling and your brain is ice cold,

But this is your one chance to prove yourself, once again, now quit shakin',

Be like Elvis and the RollingStones, Have your name in every household

Your friend's here, girlfriend came, all your family's here, supportin' you, screamin' your name

Because you're a supernova, shining more vividly than the sun will ever be,

In the end the cameras will be smiling at you, you'll be hammered with fame,

Now grin, 'cause you'll be brighter than Rihanna or Madonna, just hope you won't forget me,

'Cause all the things we've been through together is crazy, you and I are like brothers,

Remember when we were kids, when we wanted to be firefighters?
