Fireworks Poem by William B. Deutscher

Fireworks

Spent fireworks, dribbling in the dark sky,
Sharp lines and specks of light melting, fading,
Washing away with a faint cracking sound
While the accommodating audience
Claps and cheers, each member playing a role
In this resplendent spectacle of night
That has now ended, like some deathless war,
With a showy discharge of man-made pomp.

I really like the simile expressed at the end. Fine write!
