First Goodbye Poem by Ziad Jaber

First Goodbye

i never thought i'd be in this position,
i feel like i destroyed a limited edition,
world's first, only, and most priceless diamond,
that i spent my life, trying to fend.

Trying to protect from the world of coldness and fear,
Always keeping it near,
Always keeping her near,
emotionally washing away every tear,

I hope your eyes forever remain clear,
not a single tear,
clouds your extraordinary eyes,
And your ears not witness any more lies,

a lottery's billion dollar prize,
a machine to bring back all those who die,
or a million wishes, so i'd never have to try,
I'd give that all up, just for a look into your eyes.

I feel strong standing by you,
Every step away, its like kryptonite to superman.
Now, there's nothing left to do,
Seems like your love for me, just got up and ran.
