Flames Poem by Paige DeRogatis

Flames

Rating: 5.0

There's a fire burning in your eyes

Of passion and of hate

Burning from inside of you

Manipulating fate

The place that should be beating

where should exist a heart

contains nothing but a fire

That's keeping us apart

The burning flames within your soul

Keep you away from me

The curse of hate as took its toll

And now my love you cannot see

Your mind remains in ashes

Your voice is now a scream

Something's taking over you

It's now a nightmare not a dream

Its too late now, you can't come back

The flames have burnt the past

Maybe now that all is lost

You'll remember me at last

Reminds me of burnt bridges and endless doorways that take you nowhere fast.
