Fledgling Poem by RIC BASTASA

Fledgling

you beak is too big
for your wings

you see
you cannot really fly on
your own

you have fallen again
and your claws
are broken

surrender now to
mama-bird who is anxious

waiting for you
with a nice worm
in her nest
