Fleeing From An Imagined Cop In Pursuit

Rating: 4.0

I went for a ride with a couple of my friends,
I laid on the back seat because I had the spins;

We were riding in a souped up SIXTY NINE GTO.
The car has all the power to get up and go;

The driver burned rubber peeling out on the street,
a cop came around the corner working his beat;

The driver drove slowly as the cop past us by,
I rose, looked back and said, 'Here he comes, guy! '

T'was the break light of the cop stopping at his light,
Driver heard what I said, then fled with all his might;

Dashed around the corner, then down another street,
Going fast to escape an imagined cop's heat;

I felt the car hit the curb, the sidewalk, and bounce.
Then slide across the lawn, with it's tire ripping pounce;

Into a house, the car slammed into very hard,
I hit both bucket seats and my middle was jarred;

I sat up and saw electrical sparks ahead;
We're parked inside a wall that we deeply embed;

Pushed open the car door, I was quick to get out,
'I got to get out of here' I yelled and shout;

The driver ran that way, and we went another.
Wonder whose house that was? Somebody's grandmother?

What happened to the driver who caused all the fuss?
Well, no trouble came our way, ...oh, so lucky us.
