Fly Bird Away Poem by George Paiser

Fly Bird Away

Clipped off wings and virtual restraints
A dark, dark place
A chirp-less mouth singing songs in the mind
Only you to hear, only you to know
Base of a dark, dark tree at your sight
surrounded by muddy leaves that came to die
Above you birds fly and fly high
Full of life they are painted in the sky
The Heavens be all the world you want to keep
But you're a fool in your eyes
Your eyes can fool too
Make your own light and you'll pull through
