Follow On Poem by Hannah Hebditch

Follow On

They used to say that a little bit of hope goes a long way
Never gets crushed beneath our travelling feet as we run
Straight through what really matters
Even if we slip across the jagged paths creating rips and dents in our bruises
Or suffocate beneath our tears wrapping us up too tightly
We can make it to the end

They used to say that a dead soul will follow on
Never let life soak out from all the wounds
Even if we fall from our highest dreams
Or crush them in the cramped space of our mind
We will stay strong
