Come alive
Allow me to believe
Watch the clouds
As they begin to seethe
With blood red rain
No breath
All lost here and
Drowning in fire
In this land
I’ll bury my heart
Under the sand
Return to me

Burn the banners
Dim the lights
No one will sleep tonight
Blame the one who casts
Only a shadow
Hide away
You hide away

Swallow it down
Curse the night sky
You taught me to run
I taught you to lie
With hesitant shame
No clarity
All secrets nonexistent
On white walls burned
In this land
I’ll bury my heart
Under the sand
Return to me

Burn the banners
Dim the lights
No one will sleep tonight
Blame the one who casts
Only a shadow
Hide away
You hide away

Shimmering tears
Unfaltering fears
Blood red - blood red
Red hearts buried under
What’s left of the broken plunder
Blood red - blood red
My heart’s unfound
Return to me

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.

The Wind is hiding in the trees,
