Fool Poem by Maya Hanson

Fool

The memory of you pulls my stomach apart,
picks at the sanity I have left,
calls me a fool

And I was a fool,
I was pathetic
I chased your smoke down the waterways
all the way to the ship's edge
but I was just a girl
and I don't regret us,
I don't wish I was different,
I just wish I was more

As long as I knew you
I don't regret falling
falling hard
falling fast
I don't regret a thing.
