Footsteps
Am I in the way?
Or do you want me to stay?
How can I be better?
How do I make you love me?
I hold in my tears,
I am too strong,
But you are making me weak,
Making me doubt myself and my dreams.
I just want your arms to hold me
I want you to love me like you used to
I want you to kiss my tears away
And tell me that it will be ok…
You used to be my rock,
Now you are my rain
The thunder is deafening
My heart is breaking again
This stress is making me a mess,
It is making me weak,
I don't know what to say,
I don't know what to think
I remembered you said I love you
And I asked if that was a promise
Now you and I can't be in the same room
Without one of us walking away in defeat
Crying as I am listening to the footsteps as you leave.
