For All That Avails Is Flight Poem by Livinus weeping poet Okechukwu

For All That Avails Is Flight

For we have all tried,
For we have all failed,
It is one big fight we are in,
It is one eternal struggle,
The quest for power,
The hunt for wealth

Many have gone,
Countless would still,
Many more will have to suffer,
So much more will have to die,
For in this brawl there is no victory

It is a battle against immortality,
In this arena of pain,
Only the ruthless survives,
We face forces and powers much stronger than we are,
Evil not even the bravest of mankind could face,
Evil not even Hercules himself could conquer

Why bleed? Why die?
We cannot win, we cannot conquer,
We have seen friends fall,
We have seen brothers die,
We have all bled in this arena of pain,
We have all suffered from the cruel whips of this evil,
So why fight? Why try?

No man, no mortal could defeat it,
So shield your swords, hold back your anger,
For he who we face is immortal,
For all that avail is flight.
