For Connie (My Wife) Poem by dino evans

For Connie (My Wife)

Her name is as a cool spring whisper in the breeze...
Her eyes can pale the color of the sky...
A voice that can bring a strong man to his knees...
Sweet music to the heart, and to the eyes...

She passes as an angel, and caught am I to this...
Captured by the softness of her wings...
Passion fills me at the thought of just one kiss...
Ask me, for I know about these things...

Her heart beats for one, and I know the one is me...
My heart skips a beat when she is near...
Her love is fresh, so gentle, beautiful, and free...
She whispers precious secrets in my ear...

Our love has been for years, and I know will last the ages...
Her smile causes me to lose control...
Our time together, long enough to turn to dust, these pages...
Her touch can keep me warm, and kill the cold...

Love came at first sight, I knew it from the start...
She knew as well, I saw it in her face...
She gave to me what I had known, as pieces of my heart...
And put the broken parts back into place...

She has taught me things, I had only wished for love...
Revealed to me, in heart and soul, and time...
Shown me what a man can be, things only dreamed of...
And told me through the years, that she is mine...

I place these words in ink, here for the world to see...
To read what only my heart speaks about...
And show you all, everyone what sweetness means to me...
For I would come to nothing, if without...

The girl, that is to me as a cool spring feather moon...
The eyes that pale the color of the skies...
If forever has an end, then our end will come too soon...
Sweet music to my heart, and to my eyes...

I LOVE YOU NOW AND FOREVER, CONNIE
