For Me The Battle’s Won Poem by Michael P. Johnson

For Me The Battle’s Won

Through sinless blood my debt was paid
Through torment death and pain
The sacrifice dear God You made
Was clearly not in vain

Though persecution comes my way
Temptation day and night
True faith will always win the day
And set the foe to flight

To One alone man’s knee should bow
To Christ God’s Lamb & Son
The bible shows us simply how
Eternity is won

The Way, The Truth The Life is He
Who shares my every care
Who suffered death on Calvary Tree
For sinners everywhere

You are The Lord my God and King
The One to whom I pray
My heart my soul Your praise will sing
Throughout the youngest day

I thank You Lord, The Truth is mine
The facts are plain to see
Securely grafted in The Vine
I’m rich in love and free

My past is lost the future’s gain
By grace I’m safe and sound
Since Jesus came inside to reign
Your Kingdom Lord I’ve found

A citizen of Heaven’s Rest
A brother to your Son
O Lord my God I’m more than blessed
For me the battle’s won
