For my Son.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL STAR IN THE UNIVERSE
DISAPPEARED ON NEW YEAR'S DAY
A STAR WHO'S LIGHT WAS FILLED WITH LOVE
SIMPLY VANISHED THEN SLIPPED AWAY
IN OUR HEART THAT STAR IS STILL SHINING
AND IN HEAVEN FAR FAR ABOVE
AND WE ALL KNOW THAT STAR IS LEON
THE SON AND THE BROTHER WE LOVE
I PROMISE THAT EVERYDAY THAT PASSES
FOR YOUR FAMILY AND ALL YOUR FRIENDS TOO
THAT IT'S JUST ANOTHER DAY CLOSER
TO BEING BACK TOGETHER WITH YOU
GOODNIGHT OUR SPECIAL YOUNG ANGEL
IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW LONG WERE APART
WE WILL NEVER FOR A MOMENT STOP LOVING YOU
AND YOU WILL ALWAYS LIVE ON IN OUR HEART
SO DANCE WITH THE ANGELS FOR NOW BOY
BECAUSE HEAVEN IS WHERE YOU BELONG
WHERE NO ONE WILL EVER AGAIN HARM YOU
AND WHERE EVIL CAN DO YOU NO WRONG
PLEASE GOD TAKE CARE OF OUR LEON
IN YOUR ARMS WE LEAVE HIM WITH YOU
PLEASE HOLD HIM AND TELL HIM YOU LOVE HIM
LIKE HIS FRIENDS AND HIS FAMILY STILL DO
WE ALL LOVE AND MISS YOU, MY ANGEL
IN YOUR HONOUR WE WILL RAISE YOU A TOAST
FROM YOUR DAD, LEON PLEASE FORGIVE ME
FOR NOT BEING THERE WHEN YOU NEEDED ME MOST.

poet Percy Bysshe Shelley

We are as clouds that veil the midnight moon;
How restlessly they speed, and gleam, and quiver,
Streaking the darkness radiantly!--yet soon
