For The One Who Stayed On Too Long

Rating: 5.0

like three philosophers,
they sat shivering in the wind,
couloured cans,
in there hands,
mumbling and fumbling
for words lost in the alcholic,
well of a stomach,
red faced and yellow fingered,
they watch the world go by,
cars come and go,
people come and go,
rainbows appear,
and the three,
sit, and sip,
curse argue and laugh,
like three statue's
they remain every day,
sat positioned the same,
drinking the days aways,
letting the other play
the game of life,
sucking on rushed rolled ciggaretts,
shaking in drunken conducter like fashion,
each soul with a seperate story to tell,
each one bathing in the hot baths of hell,
then today as i was on my way to work,
only two sat sipping the coulored cans,
they must have seen me staring,
' stayed to long' one of the red faces said,
'decided to stay the night
froze to death
paramedics said,
can was still in his hand'
not knowing what to say,
i bowed my head,
walked on
and vowed to ensure,
that i would dedicate,
this poem to the one,
that stayed on too long.
