FOR THOSE WHO WAKE TOO EARLY

For those who wake too early
There is no rest-
Tiredness comes suddenly at the wrong time-
Work becomes harder
Effort and will are required
To make it through the too long day-

Better to sleep to dream to rest
In the dark middle of the night
And in the very early morning-

But for those of us who cannot,
Tiredness is the middle of the day,
And Rest is the Dream one should have had
And cannot.
