like a bird in flight
like a butterfly
there's a vision of you
that dances in my mind
floating in and out
between pieces of my life
you always take flight
when will you be landing again
I'm waiting on a friend
I'd like to fly too
to be alive in the depths of you
to soar through the sun
blinding the past
enlightening the future
to stand on the summit of a mountain
our lives exposed
the ancient books close
and new ones waiting
on the tip of my pen to be written.
