Forever Gone Poem by Michelle O'Connor

Forever Gone

Love..
he promises her forever
her hopes lay in his hands
he holds her close
she prays he never lets go
he kisses her sweetly
she becomes addicted
he says i love you
she believes him
they get married
they have kids

he starts comming home late
she starts wondering but wont ask
his clothes smell of a different perfume
she doesnt believe it
he lies and comes home drunk
she screams and wants an explaination
he hits her throwing her across the room

he lays six feet under
she doesnt cry
he wont be remembered
she remembers when he promised
he promised her forever once upon a time

forever is gone,
nothing left but the memory
memory of a time so innocent
