Forget About Charles Bukowski Poem by Ryan Eisele

Forget About Charles Bukowski

Rating: 0.8

He had some mental problems, I think
You'd have to be crazy to write like that.

If crazy is what it takes to write like that
I'll go ahead and let him do it.

You'd have to have had it rough, I think
Your childhood had to have had some bad luck.

If that's what it takes to be a poet,
I'll go ahead and let him write it.

Although let me top it off with this,
I must sort of be, the kind of person
Who it seems makes him sick
And I have to agree and make myself
A little sick of myself, when I read it.

It's not easy having it better than Charles Bukowski.
I can't write like him.
And I'm not about to mess up my life
Just to be able. to.
