Forget About Religion Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Forget About Religion

No wonder countless die in doubt
Seeing churches today
Religion's not what God's about
But life's guaranteed Way

No imaginary dictator
No despot up above
But everything's true Creator
Father perfect in love

Spend time reading the bible now
Suppose each word's alive
Perhaps in time, to Christ you'll bow
And from hell's grasp survive

This is God! we're talking about
No eye on earth has seen
However much we're plagued with doubt
Jesus can intervene

Yes! Jesus gentle, meek and mild
Son of my God on high
That sinners can be rectified
Read how He chose! to die

Religion's Christ no campaigner
No one should treat with scorn
But life's eternal Sustainer
Through whom souls are reborn

Sinless, made holy, set aside
Able to live once more
To sink, to swim, on clouds to ride
Through true life's open Door

Far from demonic luring charms
Free of threat and fear
In Jesus hands, The Father's arms
Where none, will shed a tear.....
