Forgotten Poem by Kelly McG

Forgotten

If I burnt the pictures
Would I still recall?
Did the moment even happen?
Or will my memories stand small?

If I knew I’d fall again
Would I take the same course?
How could I forget such a lesson?
It always leaves me remorse

The feeling that I’ve lost something
Haunts me at every side
With just a careless moment
My thoughts forever divide

I wish I could remember
Everything that defines me today
But sadly I must admit
There is no possible way

Hold on to your pictures
They are all that remain
And though we won’t remember
We will forget again
