Forgotten Lives Poem by Marijke McKinney

Forgotten Lives

Devouring me
Piece by piece
Bright eyes
Eager boy pleasure

I want to sleep
Over tips of blurred pasts
Weighted eyes
Pure smiles.

But I won’t
Let go
And you won’t
Turn around

Your hers
And parts of the days
You pick me like weeds
To clench your pity

You won’t dangle
My emotions
And moons shall
Swallow us hole.

And we’ll forget
We ever knew
Each other

Forgotten lives
Forgotten feelings
Creeping over the
Ripples of a high
Mountain lake
No one sees.

And we’ll forget
We ever knew
Each other
