Foss School Reflections Poem by Marilyn Lott

It was time to reflect back on
A group of Foss school students
Sharing memories of the past
As they looked upon the ruins

They will pass their stories down
To each generation as they grow
For they want to share reflections
Because they loved their school so

Teachers that they once had
That did their best for them
Knowing how to guide
Those teachers were each a gem

There were good times and bad times
As one thought ran into another
Floating around as they talked
Like a free-flowing delicate feather

Again they felt like a family
Brought together to reflect
For they had something in common
And shared so much respect

They took photos of each other
And what was left behind
So much has changed since then
But many similarities they’d find

And when the day was over
And it was time to say goodbye
When they got a little bit choked up
They smiled so they wouldn’t cry!
