Found That Soul Poem by Kevin Patrick

Found That Soul

Voyaging through the lapis lazuli chasm
Before the stagehands says day is done
Who will caste the queen of diamonds the heart
If the matador she loves is to be shunned
Descartes forgot in his schemata of thought
True love is the test of all earthly spirit
For in each man to blossom cognito ergo sum
He must awaken his soul’s inner delights
And I have found that soul
Hidden under my drawers
and now I am home

Far Away Once Upon a Time drifting in the seven continents
of photographs of broken hearts
The Noise of your blues is often louder than words
When in the multitudes of happy crowds
But when you discover the heart that beats equal
It ricochets around the whole world
For no Philosophy can unravel the emotional chemistry
When two souls fit the pieces of the grand design
And I have found that soul
Hidden in that domain
and now I am whole
