Fountain Of Youth Poem by Bryan Riley

Fountain Of Youth

The Fountain of Youth
was never a thing-
it was an idea;
the idea that
our deeds would
be remembered
long after
our passing

so that even we,
princes of the
peasant class,
could achieve
(at least)
SOME small
measure of
immortality
