Contempt has finally
eclipsed Love
Darkness decends
we lose each other
clawing through
cold rooms
looking for an exit.

I hear footsteps
slow yet hurried
lingering yet desperate
Distance falls between us
silencing my sight.

It happens like the rain
the wind, the rising of the sun,
Yet it feels so direct
only I am sinking
everyone else has jumped ship.
