Fragments Concerning Ontological Commotion

Rating: 5.0

“Tell me about your mother, Jim.”
“I called her up 8 o’clock last night, ” Doctor Bernstein.
“I didn’t speak to her
for about a month.
As soon as she got on the phone
she said
she’s watching
this great Errol Flynn movie on channel 11
and can’t talk.
Then she hung up.”

Charles, this is hysterical. Reminds me of my mom who has since deceased. We had a wonderful relationship too. Thank you for this one. I remember speaking to my mother on the phone one day and another call came in. She put me on hold. She didn't come back on. I rushed home to see what was wrong. She looked at me and said, 'What are you doing home so early? ' She had forgotten I was on hold AND she was talking to a friend of mine on the phone! THAT was too funny. More so now. Thanks again!
