Fraternized Poem by Munia Khan

Fraternized

Standing on the same feet
she went twenty nine years back
where nothing could be remembered
but she could imagine those days
unaffected, filled with innocence;
full of wonder.

She’s now standing
by the same window,
but couldn’t look into one moment later;
nor could she imagine
what awaited her after a while
A ray of light from her dreams?
Or a glimpse of shadow
from the damp corner
of her seasoned plight?
Pleasure of pain?
Or a suitable place
to stash away her whim?

Nothing seemed to be cared
And all she could really feel
was just another heart beat
fraternized with ache
