Free Fall Poem by nic lippi

Free Fall

Sometimes I wanna lean back and fall:
to just let the world go.

To just listen to the wind,
whispering in my ear.

To let it all blow past me,
catching on the gusts,
rolling off my mind.

To feel the ground closing in,
the inevitable impact,
the rush to the end.

To lay in peace,
as the dust settles,
and the world lingers onto me again
