We walk together hand in hand,
Into what they call the promised land.
Our hopes are high, our feelings true,
So why does everybody seem so blue.

He came to greet me, my true love
Through the light that comes from up above
My pain is gone, my heart is high
I feel that I could almost fly.

But my wings are clipped for now anyway
Until the tears dry, which they will one day.
My children I’m gone but not for ever
For one day again we will be together.

My love for you, my darlings, will never fade
But your memories of me will become hazed
Do not feel guilty, just enjoy your time
Because as you know I’ve enjoyed mine.

Its time to go so please don’t be sad
It has been good, the time that I've had,
Good bye for now, see you again
For I am free, free of pain.
