Freedom And I Poem by indira babbellapati

Freedom And I

Rating: 3.1

many a time i wonder
what's freedom is all about
the world and i
are so much obsessed
that when freedom does dawn
it's hardly ever discerned
pity, chained to the idea, the idea
in itself is taken for freedom
what's freedom worth when
in its name we collectively
and individually cling to that
misrepresented ideology?
when we spend last dropp of energy
in defending a clinging ideology?
can we ever free our clinging selves
from the chain
of grief
of bonds
within and without
and the resultant nightmares
that make us restive
in sleep as well wakefulness?
can we ever succeed in drawing
atleast one breath in that
one moment of fleeting freedom
and cherish it?

truly a vast concept and you have dealt with it very well...to me freedom is true happiness not entrapped in any ideology

yea....a vast concept this...freedom. like...does a thing like this exist? freedom from bondage means bondage to freedom. we can't rid ourselves of belongings, but we can certainly express our freedom and self-abnegation through them.... huh....dunno.... well...lemme free myself of this thought though..'tis huge! loved the poem though... intricate and beautiful. thank you.
