Freedom Isn'T For Us Poem by John W. McEwers

Freedom Isn'T For Us

Rating: 5.0

Because it would be too much for freedom to be for us.
It wouldn't be right if freedom were given to us.
It must be earned,
must be fought for,
must be cradled,
must be kept.
No, freedom is not for you or me.

But get on down the road to liberty.
Shout out about the things that can not be.
Put a cowbell 'round your neck,
run one step, two step, quick,
and show the rest that you can still be free.
