Freedom of Love

The freedom of a sparrow is the air under it's wings
The freedom of the wild horse is the plains...recede
The freedom of choice is the choice not made

you have excelled writing this poem. love must be shown for someone to love in return. But sometimes love is a one way street and that just doesn't work. 10 (Report) Reply

First step to happiness, learn to love yourself. If you value yourself, only then can you place value on other relantionships. Love, an important element that you can judge the quality of your life. Scrimping on love does not leave you happy (if anything else!) As you said, Love knowing you held back leaves you...little to hang on. Beautiful writing, thumbs up! (Report) Reply

A lot of valuable wisdom expressed and the images of the horse and sparrow are very well chosen.
Agree very much with the wonderful message inside.
    Excellent poem (Report) Reply

Freedom of love. kind of nice title. i like to give an idea about the line: The freedom in love is knowing you had no more to give
i agree with you dear Thomas. a real lover is a person who lost him or her self in the way of reaching his or her love. the lover is free of everything he or she doesn't think about loosing anything because he or she wants to be one the part of the love. so, i can say that there is a beautiful freedom in love
    well done Thomas (Report) Reply

A broad outlook of how we all need love to sustain our inner need for joy, truth and romance to connect with freedom of love in all its splendour!

A very good poem Midnights Voice. I love the imagery and the message. We are nothing but love. Many men would attempt to deny this simple fact, however those that do so must question the truth of their own existence. Are they truly alive? (Report) Reply

    wow so philosophical Thomas.
what are we without love? .what would be our freedom.? the love would be our freedom.
Really i agree withyou just a sparrow in the cage with love looks like it is given the feather to fly.

I like this poem and your topics of love and freedom. Very pretty. You have an interesting format, and I like the reference to the sparrow and wild horse. My favorite lines are: A choice without love is reckless
...and bound to be wrong (Report) Reply

I was captivated by the way you began this piece. Tis the very essence of poesy! The change of structure brought an interesting mix that fit perfectly with the poem.

My favourite part has to be the first stanza.

Honestly, the only thing that detracted from the poem was the second stanza. It interrupted the flow you built up in the first one, which, in turn deigned the rest of the poem. It was rather uninteresting to be honest.

Overall, I loved the poem, loved the message and the language and imagery (as always) .
Not to be too harsh (I just know you've the skill) . (Report) Reply

A sparrow without feathers is a sparow without love...and cannot fly

This poem is a warm blanket on a chilly day. Romantic, elegant painted imagery, wise. I am saving this poem to read when I feel my feathers blowing away. (Report) Reply
