Freethinker Poem by ivor or ivor.e hogg

Freethinker

Rating: 5.0

I don’t profess to speak for God
nor do I claim authority
To you my ideas may seem odd
but they are mine exclusively
I question everything I am told
I use the brain God granted me
Challenge the legends known of old
and find them full of falsity.
I can respect that other men
cling firmly to what have been taught
when they were innocent children
Which they accept without a thought.
I see no reason for dissent
though our beliefs are different.
