Friday The 13th, Horror Poem by Diana van den Berg

Friday The 13th, Horror

Tonight
shock peeled back
strips of your veneered normality
revealing momentary
psychotic mindrat flashes
that I could have missed
but didn’t
and the vengeance
in your snarl
which you covered badly
with a joke
chilled my skeleton
for hours
after you had gone.
