Friend Or Foe Poem by Kyrsten Gaddis

Friend Or Foe

Rating: 5.0

Why would you say that
I thought we were friends
It turns from love
Into war
Why can't we get along
How did this start anyway?
How do we know for sure
When you call me insulting names
I fight back
How can we get along without hurting the ones we love
When we fight,
I think of
hatred,
anger,
and most of all
when you call me those angry words
it makes me feel
depressed,
sad,
and horrible
all of those lies
you said
were wrong
I've tried and tried
to get along
but its hard
when you
have a horrible friend.
you were called names
last year
and you were a loner,
now that you have friends
you take advantage of them
you should be thankful
for what you have
and not ruin it
like the way you have
I know we got to be friends again
last time we fought
but im done with you
and I can't tell
if your
friend or foe

At this age infatuation is mistaken as friendship or love that needs caution. CP

Writing this poem seems like the product of a raw wide range of feelings that need to be distilled into a more fluid, deeper sense of what it is that's important about trust and the test of time. When you write out your words - always take a measure of how much inner perspective can applied to competing forces from outer presures that you may need more time to evaluate. You're effort is on the right track though.
