Friend-Zoned Poem by Foster Teegarden

Friend-Zoned

I don't understand your thinking,
yet I still love you, and you should me too.

The day you told me that it's not,
I got a phone call while I'm in some stall.
This message happened to come from
one of your best friends. Said 'should be the end.'
Dropped to my knees, began to plea
'Oh why is this so? ' Said I was friend-zoned.
She gave me reasons I could not hear.
Both of us were sad you could not be had.
What I heard next was the hardest.
That you thought I could, and you know I would,
make a great date, a real fine catch.
But not for you, dear. I'm just too sincere.

I don't understand your thinking,
yet I still love you, and you should me too.
