Friends.. My Best Friend Poem by kelvin karani

Friends.. My Best Friend

My life has now become
A juicy gossip item
My achievements and sorrow
Everywhere are paraded by them
To all who care to follow

In this pot in which I cook
Burning over the fiery tongues
Of friends now turned fiends
I sit deep in thought
Counting friendships now lost

In the streets they stalk me
They want to know my actions
Their ears stretch to hear
Every word I have to say
Am in a tight embrace of fear

Today I dragged me home
And I saw it on the wall
A poem which smiled and said:
“You’re your own best friend! ”
I dusted it and gave it a hug
